Coating thickness tester:
There are two types of instruments to check two kinds of coating film thickness on a base material, they are used for checking the following:
► Metallic coating, such as silver, zinc, nickel, tin, etc
► Non-metallic coatings, such as paint and primer etc
Film coating thickness has a direct relation to the ultimate requirement e.g., higher the coating of zinc (or paint) on steel, higher the protection of steel against corrosion (rusting).
Coating should be resistant to certain mechanical operation. In other words, it should stick to the base material well and should not crack or peel off. Following instruments are used for checking these properties:
► Bend tester
► Impact tester
► Crosshatch tester
Cup Tester:
The Cup Tester is used for checking the quality of a sheet material to ensure its suitability for deep-drawing applications such as the drawing of plain sheets into required shape for making a one-piece cover for two-phase and three-phase (12 & 18 way 100A) load centers. During deep drawing of sheet material, cracks will develop in defective material.
Calibration set-ups:
In this technologically advanced age, quality parameters for various measuring instruments are quantified as far as possible. Therefore, to ensure continued suitability of measuring instruments, they are calibrated on a regular basis. AES regularly calibrates its electrical measuring and metrological instruments such as verniers, micrometers, standard pin gauges, depth gauges etc.
a. Universal calibrator WAVETEK model 9100:
It is used for calibration / verification of ammeter, voltmeter, frequency meter, thermocouples etc.
b. High precision zero-grade highly-stable ceramic blocks of standard sizes:
These are used for calibration of meteorological instruments as mentioned above. The ceramic blocks are available in steps of one micron for size up to 1.01mm and in 10 micron from 1.01 to 1.5 mm, like wise up to a maximum size of 100 mm. It has high stability and good wear resistance. All the above instruments are of highly reputed makes.
Micro Ohm meter
This set-up is used for measuring resistance values in micro Ohms and used for verifying contact resistance of breakers and for verifying effectiveness of protective circuits.
Finished Product Testing
All Type and Routine tests are conducted on our product in accordance with relevant standards by our experience and qualified testing engineers. All our finished products are subjected to thorough routine quality checking in accordance with specific standards. A test plan is prepared for each of our testing equipments and results are recorded. Wherever necessary, routine test reports from OEMs are obtained and compliance to them verified. Type tests are carried out in accordance with relevant standards. For its products, AES also has third-party Type testing compliance certificates.
